TAIWAN

ENGLISH TEACHERS REQUIRED THROUGHOUT TAIWAN

Currently, due to Covid-19 visa/travel restrictions, we can only recruit candidates from USA, Canada, New Zealand, UK and Ireland.

Work permits take an average of 4 – 6 months to arrange in order to enable travel into Taiwan. In order to process documents and arrange medicals in the home country, candidates must be in their home country or in Taiwan itself, when applying.

Hotel quarantine and meals are arranged and paid for by the school.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or US Associate Degree

Candidates with a US Associate Degree will need to have or obtain a TEFL certificate.

Those with a Bachelor's Degree do not require a TEFL certificate.

Candidates must be able to show the original degree certificate.

Candidates must be able to obtain a clean national criminal background check.

The school is looking for enthusiastic and dynamic graduates with a genuine love of working with children. Candidates must be flexible to work with children of all ages.

The school teaching schedule is Monday-Saturday. Saturday teaching is required. Some schools are on a 5-day week, some on a 6-day week.

Salary & benefits:

Hourly Pay starting pay rate range of NT $620 – 660 per hour based on previous teaching qualifications
Ceiling rate from NT $750 per hour to $800 per hour

Teaching Duties Stipend:
NT $3000 per month for class preparation work—e.g. for meetings, training, class preparation, etc.

First-year Contract Renewal Bonus:

Staff retention is an important priority. The purpose of this bonus is to encourage teachers to stay for a minimum of two years. (Contracts are for a year)
NT $10,000 is paid in the 6th month of 2nd contract
NT$15,000 at the end of 24th month.

Approximate monthly income depending on hours worked:

20 Hours Week = 49,880 NTD per month (approx. £1,333 / $1660)
25 Hours Week = 62,350 NTD per month (approx. £1,667 / $2080)
30 Hours Week = 74,820 NTD per month (approx. £2,000 / $2500)

15. TRAINING CENTRE NINGBO {accommodation provided}

16. TRAINING CENTRE - CHENGDU

Requirements:
Teachers have to be Z visa eligible. Candidates must be from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, or New Zealand, between the ages of 21 and 55, have a clear criminal record, and have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.

The school currently has about 75 teachers across 14 different campuses.

Salary:

  • Salary: 13,000-15,000 RMB per month after tax in addition to a 2,000 RMB housing allowance. .
  • Extra bonuses given for advanced qualifications, e.g. Masters of Education, CELTA, etc.
  • Bonuses for 1 to 1 classes, demos, and overtime.
  • For teachers with less than 2 years of ESL experience, the monthly salary is 13,000 RMB and for teachers with over 2 years of experience, the monthly salary is 15,000 RMB after tax.

Flights: A flight allowance of 8,000-9,000 RMB is provided per contract (depending on the cost of the flight), given in two chunks, one at the beginning of the contract and one at the end. On the first contract there is also an option for teachers to have the flight purchased for them using the first half of their flight allowance toward it.

Pick up from the airport is arranged for teachers when they arrive, and they are put up in a hotel free of charge for a week while they are finding an apartment.

Housing: Assistance is provided to teachers in finding housing. The school has a team of Welfare Officers in the HR department whose responsibilities are to help foreign staff do things they would not be able to or find it difficult to do themselves due to the language barrier or cultural differences.

Holiday: 12+ days of paid public holiday (15-month contracts so sometimes there is rollover) and 12 days annual leave for the first contract.

Working/teaching hours: 40 hours, with a maximum of 18 teaching hours per week with the rest being office hours.

Student age: 3-18 with the majority being age 3-7.

Support for teachers: the school also provides international health insurance for all of our international employees and provides visa assistance from the point of hire until the teacher leaves.
